The erg monitor hasn;t been replaced yet, however hasnow decided to occasionally work so I managed to do my 5k, also vaguely rate-capped it at 25 (but took the rate up at the end). Did 18:31 without too much trouble which I'm happy with given I haven't really got going with training yet. Have done a few bits and pieces on the erg but nothing long enough to count as training (it's surprising how much more boring it is without a working monitor!) however I've done a fair few cycles between the station and home, as well as jogging from mclaren to woking station after my erg today (about 3 miles I think, haven;t actually measured though). Going to start training properly now.
The way train times work out it's a bit difficult for me to do 15k's (i.e. I would get home at 10.30pm), so I'm planning on doing slightly shorter, 10k/30' type ergs, which along with the cycling and occasional jogging to the station (which I think I might try and do regularly as I'm considering doing Tough Guy this year) should work well I think. A full day would then be 2 6 mile bike rides, a 10k erg and a 3 mile jog, though I doubt i'll manage that very often :D
